2006 Southwest

We had planned to spend September 2006 touring the southwest of England, hopefully before the onset of less clement weather. We began our trip as intended spending four days in the Somerset Levels, an area often bypassed on the way southwest, then moved off to Gwithian in Cornwall to meet friends, Ann and Chris, as planned. However, we interrupted our trip and returned home the following day due to a not altogether unexpected family tragedy. After a two week hiatus and with family matters having been attended to, we resumed our trip more or less where we left off and had a wonderful time in Cornwall and south Devon.
