In 1996 we realised an ambition and went to Kenya on Safari. We visited the game parks of Samburu (my personal favourite, largely because the weather was so good) and the more widely known Masai Mara (where the short rains had arrived early). We camped in tents and travelled in old Toyota Landcruisers. It’s an experience that simply must be repeated, though driving the distances between the game parks was very arduous due to the road conditions.
